The expectation of a professional career is always full of doubts and uncertainties. After going through most of the professional career, one can evaluate some of the factors that led us to where we arrived. The presentation focuses on impressions of personal development in subareas of chemistry, the search for answers for fundamental questions, and the pleasure of always learning and teaching in any domain.
