The peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor γ (PPARγ)is an important member of the nuclear receptor (NR) superfamily,
which directly binds to DNA and regulates the expression of a myriad of genes related to adipogenesis and control of several
cellular signaling, including regulation of insulin sensitization.
Pathogenically, PPARγ is involved in the treatment of type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, inflammation, and cancer.
